Here we are again, another meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club! Welcome to Nungate Towers, one and all.
Tonight's Tailcock will be the "November Noggin" a lovely spicy brew - guaranteed "central heating" for this cold damp evening! On our menu tonight we have a rich hearty beef casserole with dumplings, as our hot plate special, on the pudding trolley we have plum duff and custard! Other treats for tonight are volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers!
Up in the gallery the Minstrels are currently playing pontoon but later on they will be regaling us with their usual selection of madrigals and fugues, down in the ballroom our favourite local band The Tone Deafs have joined with the Hotel Spendido Palm Court Orchestra to form a "supergroup" and they will be swinging along to the popular tunes from the "Swing" era! (pass me my bobby socks!) Meanwhile down in the Music room we have a special treat, the return of Flamenco Flo and her performing poodles!
Everybody dance now!!!
For the rofl tonight I have to offer:
set of broken lute strings (courtesy of the Minstrels)
1 cardboard box (empty but useful)
Spare set of chains (thank you Igor)

A warm welcome awaits all who enter these portals

carriages at midnight

Probably a Midlands speciality Tony. Not many people have come across it.

Goes back a long time Daisy, especially in the USA. I believe that the Americans that were stationed here during the war bought it over with them.
Oh yes, another bucket of November Noggin for me also please, Igor.
That's interesting Tony. Never thought of that.
Igor, don't listen to that pesky excuse for a goat keeper.
Let's concentrate on the job in hand

(That remark of Tone's puts paid to his hopes for a jar of my pickles)
Here comes Plant now with a tray of drinks
Forgot to say, that would fit in with The Lindy Hop!
The youngsters have all delighted in learning it.

Doh, what about the vinegar for my chips.

Bet they have Daisy, very energetic dance is the Lindy Hop.
Pickles Tony? To eat or get into?
I love pickled beetroot.
I can't deprive Tone of the excruciating deliciousness of my pickles and, indeed, their vinegar.
Don't start me on pickles, Daisy. Red cabbage is a particular favourite and waiting in my cupboard for the Christmas ham.
I may have to road-test it 'ere long, I feel.

Christmas Ham? Thanks for that Mammar, I must remember to order mine. I had the Dukeshill catalogue in the other day, thinking about having the "Boxing Day Ham" this time, may even indulge in some of the pickles they have on offer - will save making my own this year
To eat, Daisy. Thanks Mammar, those pickled onions of yours are delicious and that vinegar drizzled on my chips, shear heaven.

Daisy I certainly don't need to get into anymore 'Pickles' lol.

Aw nungate, but you can't beat home made pickles.
don't you dare!
Mammar, gherkins! piccalilli!
Ladies and gentlemen, I fear I must go.
gravity seems to be defeating the eyelids.
Thank you for having me. X x
well I am crashing, the drive and its sides, front yard and 10% of the lawn all raked for leaves and stuffed under bushes or burning - about an acre plus covered - we'll see if it is dry tomorrow to start on two of the three 'lawns' .....but the old body is feeling it this evening.....
