Here we are again, another meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club! Welcome to Nungate Towers, one and all.
Tonight's Tailcock will be the "November Noggin" a lovely spicy brew - guaranteed "central heating" for this cold damp evening! On our menu tonight we have a rich hearty beef casserole with dumplings, as our hot plate special, on the pudding trolley we have plum duff and custard! Other treats for tonight are volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers!
Up in the gallery the Minstrels are currently playing pontoon but later on they will be regaling us with their usual selection of madrigals and fugues, down in the ballroom our favourite local band The Tone Deafs have joined with the Hotel Spendido Palm Court Orchestra to form a "supergroup" and they will be swinging along to the popular tunes from the "Swing" era! (pass me my bobby socks!) Meanwhile down in the Music room we have a special treat, the return of Flamenco Flo and her performing poodles!
Everybody dance now!!!
For the rofl tonight I have to offer:
set of broken lute strings (courtesy of the Minstrels)
1 cardboard box (empty but useful)
Spare set of chains (thank you Igor)

A warm welcome awaits all who enter these portals

carriages at midnight

I know Tony, but I don't think I'm quite up to it this year, been having a lot of problems, and I doubt Queenie would be up for all the chopping! There are a lot of really nice pickly goodies in the catalogue so I'm seriously thinking about ordering some, then of course there are the pates, and pies, a 3lb pork pie! Not to mention the cheeses, I could go on and on (I'm hoping Mr N. will see the box of Prestat chocolates on the back page)
Mr N - see something wets self laughing

Ah, good night then Mammar, sleep well!

DT it should be a hot bath for you then bed! Sooth the old aching bones!
Sweet dreams
Night DTC. Talking of noggins, I seem to be nogginless!
G'night DT.

Right I understand nungate. Pssst leave the catalogue lying around with the chocolate page conveniently showing.

Hope springs eternal daughter mine (you could always point it out to him of get him into Jenners for some Leonidas chocolates assuming they still have them haven't been in the food hall there for ages!) Or you could just get a hold of the Charbonnel et Walker catalogue...........
Your noggin Madame Daisy ...
Jenners Food Hall isn't what it used to be
Question Author
shame! They also did Charbonnel et Walker chocolates!
Baie Danke Igor.
Igor, another noggin of noggin for me please.
Ah, there you are Plant! What a good idea a trolley full of drinks!
Is Jenners one of those posh shops ?.
Come on Tony, dance time.
Rightyo, Daisy. Fancy a go at the Lindy hop ?.
Why not?
Question Author
Yes, at least it was, used to be independent but was taken over by House of Fraser a while ago, I haven't been in there in ages mainly because I seldom go into the city centre these days. Used to be a great store, fabulous food hall..........then nowadays there are a great many great food shops around,
we've probably got one of the best delis in the country in Valvona and Crolla, just off Leith Walk, not so much a shop as an experience!
