Things To Do With School Past Or Present

I could do with a bit of help on two of these - I have answers but am not sure !!

6. first class era (6,4) - I have 'Autumn Term' for this one - being the term with the school year starts ???

21. directional flight implement (6) - I have Pointer for this one but again am unsure

Any help or advice would be appreciated

thanks all ...I've pencilled in compass but am still hoping to get a 6 letter answer.

However for No. 6 - leading on from one answer I'm opting for Infant Year - thanks - but any more input on 21 will be much appreciated - cheers

I guess no.21 could be "course".......... not exactly an implement though

Compass gives direction. The instruments that hold a pencil are compasses. I don't see where flight comes in.

Foeget ARROW- it would have to be arrows to be 6 but the clue is singular (although it does cover flight and directional- but has no strong school link either)
