Should The Queen Abdicate Now- Thinking About This After Carlos Spain

I was wondering what people think. Should the Queen abdicate and give her role to Charles. IF she lives to be the same age as her mum Prince Charles would be 89 when he takes over the throne. She has done a good job but surely it is time she went now what do people think?

No. The Queen will never abdicate. On her 21st birthday, she made a pledge to serve us for the whole of her life - and she has done exactly that. Prince Charles will become king when his mother dies - and not a minute before.

No she should not abdicate, she should put her hand up to the massive joke played on the gullible over the generations and admit it's not fair and that she is abolishing the monarchy so we can gradually move into the 21st century (or should that be the 20th century?)

No. She pledged a lifetime of commitment, she'll honour that pledge, she's still doing a good job, and when the time comes the line of succession will not be changed. Charles will be king, followed by William.

Actually I think her finest hour was when 'she' jumped out of that plane at the Olympics opening ceremony. What a gal! :o)

No, the queen should see out her reign, and then the monarchy should pass into history and be abolished.

I think we should be proud of our monarchy. I think William will make a wonderful King. The Queen is still doing a great job, and I think Charles could well bring down the monarchy, he is not a popular person being an adulterer like he is. So if his reign is short or non-existent that would be a good thing.

A distinct possibility is that she will outlive Charles. He never looks all that well to me.
