.................searched for something lost only to find something else you'd also lost? Bought my Sunday paper yesterday morning, gave the assistant a £2 coin and rightly received 60p in change. Was wearing my loafers and, appropriately, spent the rest of the day loafing around; first on the settee, then on my 'tv chair'. Emptied my pockets before undressing and found just 10p. The 50p was missing! As soon as i came downstairs this morning, i searched under the cushions of the settee, to no avail. Then i searched under the cushions of my tv chair and still no 50p. But i did find a £1 coin that i didn't even know i'd lost, Kerching:-)
Should have said 'lounge trousers' rather than 'loafers' and 'lounging about' rather than loafing about. Still not found the 50p though. Might have to get the 'sniffer' dogs in:-)
I dropped a cough sweet into the gap between my car seat and the gear knob panel thingy ... short of dismantling the whole car it will still be there when the car is scrapped - but I did find a pair of flip flops under the seat whilst I was ferreting around - never seen them before in my life :+()
Threw an old settee out for the bonfire some years back and could hear the coins as we moved it. No matter how much of it we cut away, we could not get to the 'treasure' that lay within. We did, however, find about half a dozen pens among the crumbs.
