Hi, in my garden I have a pink variegated weiglia, a flowering current and an escallonia 'Apple Blossom'. There were hardly any flowers in Spring but all three seem to be flowering now. As there were no flowers, I did not prune them in spring, as you are supposed to prune 'after they have flowered'. Could this be why they are flowering now? I do not want to prune them now for fear of cutting off any potential spring flowers. Help please.
I know exactly what you mean Foxy, its been a crazy year for many flowering plants, some of mine failed to flower at all!
Hopefully by next spring things will have returned to normal and we can get back to pruning at the usual time.
So I would think, let nature run its course and leave them until the Spring.
