Not sure if this has been done allready but read this in the mail and the times this weekend. Anyone agree that this former gay anthem by the weather girls - it's raining men was due for a woke makeover '?

Agree with you thinking it was due to a makeover?
Or agree with the loons who made the makeover?

Thanks roy.
It had ever occurred to me it needed a makeover. In fact it was allready a gay anthem so am surprised this song has been picked up on- there must be lots of others which are far more in need of a rewrite to bring into 2020s
Perlease!

I was expecting a Perlease! and I knew it would be you, Tora! Won my bet
Good luck with " Man, I feel like a woman".
Not a bad way to milk some new pink pounds out of the old classics actually.

Looking forward to Neil Diamond, Girl you'll be a Man soon.

When DJ'ing, I always announce in an ironic tone - "So do I! But I don't suppose I'll get one ..."

The oldies are the best!!
andy-hughes,It's always worth a try. :o)

Does this mean we'll end up with Son of a preacher them? poor Dusty will be turning in her grave.
I think Dusty would be absolutely fine with that.

ps I am not advocating that all songs should be reworked in this manner, that would get tedious.
I think it's ridiculous. It was written for women, and taken over by men. I realise songs fade out, when no longer appropriate or related to... but changing them seems excessive.
oh I don't know pixie, I still remember the Beach Boys changing "And then he kissed me" to "And then I kissed her". I was in therapy for weeks...
God bless Mother Nature :-)
I never knew that jno. Shocking :-)
It looks like a joke, or something made up by DM journalist to get a story. Funny though.
//It was written for women, and taken over by men.//

Sorry Pixie, it was writen by Paul Jabara, a prominent gay singer/songwriter from the 70s and 80s who worked predominantly in the disco/Hi-NRG genres. It was always written as a gay anthem and never "taken over by men" as you stated.
Coming soon in a Sun or Daily Mail near you, 'they' just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper.
It’s funny that the Mail is getting all in a tizzy because a classic gay anthem has been ‘updated’ by the PC Brigade.

Uh oh ! Do you see the problem with the original ?
Run for cover !

Good point, Gromit.
Well, at least Robert Palmer's Every Kinda People is safe.
