I had an old mantle chiming clock and I put into a clock repairers to see if it could be fixed.
The news was bad - it was beyond repair so I agreed for the clockmaker to put a battery operated replacement - which chimed as well.
I cannot get the chimes to sync with the actual time - eg, this morning at eleven am, it chimed 4 times.
Is there a way that I can reset the device so that thechimes are in sync with the correct time?

Thanks in advance

It could be easy enough to remove the hands and put them back in the right place. If it's difficult to get to them I'd take it back to the clockmaker and get him to do it. I recently changed the movement in a couple of clocks and the hands on one of them were completely separate from the movement. You fit the movement and then just push the hands on; sometimes they are held on by a nut, sometimes it's just a push fit.
