Ball of Foot
7 Answers
My partner went to bed on Saturday night perfectly fine and woke up on Sunday morning with an aching foot and can hardly stand on it. She didn't bang or injure it in any way. The pain is in the ball of her foot below the big toe. Any suggestions?

It sounds like plantafacitus (probably spelt wrong). I get it sometimes and it is quite painful. There are stretching exercises you can do to ease it. My doctor said that once you have it you are always prone to it. It can be due to a sports injury or 'fallen arches'. It used to be called 'policeman's foot' coz it can be brought on by lots of walking. If it gets really bad you can have an injection in your foot but apparantly it's agonisingly painful and doesn't always work. I still get it once in a while but I know it only lasts a few days at a time.
