Egg donation

I am considering egg donation. That is to say - giving my eggs not receiving them. I know very little about it and don't quite know why I am thinking about it all of a sudden. Perhaps it is because I am thirty years old and hoping to have children of my own one day but worrying that I might not be able to. Does anyone know anything about this subject? Is it painful/a lengthy/harmful procedure? Anyone else, like me, thinking about doing this but not sure about the psychological implications?
