Welcome to this third week in the reign of Lady Alex, who will continue set the MM Links for the rest of the month. After her Tayside week, we had a Thameside week in which the bonus points were flying around like confetti. My abacus went into overdrive when it came to the scoring! I expect a more subdued weekend ahead, as Lady Alex has been given carte blanche to be as devious as possible.
Last Saturday was International Women's Day and I would lie to pay tribute to the many international women who take part in the Links Games every week. We have representatives from every corner of the globe. Not least is our very own Queen of Oz, seekeerz, who keeps scores for the sister game KM Links. Many entrants enter both games ~ trying to outwit Kate Mepham AND Lady Alex on the same day.
If you wish to chance your arm, look out for the starting times tomorrow on AnswerBank. Thats about 06.30am for KM Links and exactly 09.00am for MM Links. Newcomers are always welcome. Dont be put off by the group of miscreants known as the Shrubbery Squad. Some see them as a positive feature to the game ~ I shall reserve judgement!
Me? I am crofter!
Keeper of the scores and keeper of law and order.
That is, except within the Shrubbery, where lawlessness rules!
Hi Crofter, hope that "lie" is not a freudian slip (lol)
now that the wind has subsided a bit we may all be out in force in the shrubbery. It may be quiet in Stockport as Pauline has been back to the dentist and is still numb.
Although a drop of Wiskey may loosen her tongue!

As one of the, by crofter, labelled "miscreants" of the shrubbery I thought I would check the dictionary definition of that title; it seems I am i) a wrongdoer or villain or ii) an unbeliever or heretic.
I don't believe I have ever, before, in my life been so flattered.
Let chaos rule!
Corkscrews ready, lads and lasses, and pull.........
Good evening fellow miscreants.
Thankyou crofter for that introduction to the game.
I wonder what mixture of words Ladyalex has lined up for us all tomorrow..............we will see
Good Evening All - I'm just of out, but will be back later. So save me something to drink - Pauline can you hide some from the men. Once they get there hands on it I won't get a look in.
I believe, Pauline, that the answer to your woes would easily have been solved 150 years ago. I have a "receipt" book of my wife's great-great whatever grandmother and the Victorians would, in your case go off to the chemist and easily obtain opiates, cocaine or other analgesics without prescription that would have quickly alleviated your "fang pang".
Stick to the whisky, Pauline (I think Jan's been on it already). Gin gives you a headache. I recommend a good single malt and I'm sure Sarumite will have some for you.
No whiskey for me (really do not like the stuff) will stick to the wine a friend has pointed in the direction of sauvignon blanc from New Zealand, really nice mmmmmmm
now ladyalex is there anything you want to share tonight???
Well, I might share the fact that I have had the builders in all week. Why is it that all builders take 2 sugars in their tea or coffee ? Do they need the energy ?
