MM and KM Links March 2008 [Week 3]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

Welcome to this third week in the reign of Lady Alex, who will continue set the MM Links for the rest of the month. After her Tayside week, we had a Thameside week in which the bonus points were flying around like confetti. My abacus went into overdrive when it came to the scoring! I expect a more subdued weekend ahead, as Lady Alex has been given carte blanche to be as devious as possible.

Last Saturday was International Women's Day and I would lie to pay tribute to the many international women who take part in the Links Games every week. We have representatives from every corner of the globe. Not least is our very own Queen of Oz, seekeerz, who keeps scores for the sister game KM Links. Many entrants enter both games ~ trying to outwit Kate Mepham AND Lady Alex on the same day.

having rang for a plumber all tuesday morning, they either did not answer or their machine said they would get back to us (they didn't) I wonder why they pay all the money to advertise if they don't want the work?
We only wanted a gas pipe capped off, as we were removing a fire. ten minute job.

Evening all. Just popping in for a few minutes. Jan your problem is obvious - a ten minute job. Most of them won't turn out nowadays for anything less than a full scale renovation. Where have all the little handymen gone? On second thoughts perhaps we'll leave that one well alone!

Following the building thread - and good evening, all, by the way - do you rememever a Not the Nine O'Clock News sketch which showed an advertisement for an especially beautiful ruby necklace set against the most wondrous looking cleavage... until the camera panned back and the voice-over said "for the builder in your life....?

I'm making a flying visit tonight - cricket to listen to and a whole day's rugby to watch tomorrow - but may just have a swift pint and one of these single malts that were being offered on page one, if that's OK?

You have all just given Reg an idea...to advertise as a 10 minute job man!....for all those jobs nobody else will turn out to even look at. ....He had me worried at first!!!

He'd probably be a great success, Pauline. In the Isle of Man (where I live when not in Portugal) there is always a big shortage of handymen and recently someone from South Africa set up business just to do the small jobs. Now he has a six week waiting list!

Pauline thats what my nephew started doing when he was made redundant and like the man Christiana was talking about he has a waiting list!!!!!
Now those pics!!!!. I googled picture, clicked on heading to copy but when I pasted it filled the whole page!!!!! (not the picture just the ref. of the link) Does this make any sense?

jan, that ten minutes thing, Sting (Gordon Sumner) in talking about his "tantric sex" marathons with his wife had to confess that most of the time was taken up in dining and begging!

had to slip a friends son a few quid in the end ( he is corgi registered)
