MM and KM Links March 2008 [Week 5]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

Welcome to this fifth and final week in the reign of Lady Alex, who is about to set the seal on a most entertaining month of MM Links. After her initial panic of winning at her first attempt, she reports that she has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being in the driving seat. Whoever takes the title for March, remember that there is as much (or as little) support as is needed for the new champion to meet the task of setting the April Links. You will not be simply "thrown to the lions"!

Talking of the lions, how is the Shrubbery Squad tonight? Well, I hope, and in good spirit ~ or should it be the other way round? The "good spirit" will soon be inside the Shrubbery Squad!

This will also be the last week for the sister game KM Links, where entrants try to outwit Kate Mepham of DT fame by predicting the Monday Links to Saturday's four chosen words.

If you wish to chance your arm at both games, look out for the starting times tomorrow on AnswerBank. That's about 06.30am for KM Links and exactly 09.00am for MM Links. Newcomers are always welcome. Usually over 50 ABers take part in the games, and no-one takes it seriously! [If you believe that you'll believe anything]

Gosh Jan, don't spend it all at once!! Buy yourself something nice. Sarumite has been quite quiet lately, hope he is OK or is it Mum? Pauline wipe that juice off your chin or tie a napkin around your neck - don't dirty the sheets!!

Laney it is 2% of our contracted weekly earnings we keep hoping for the maximum 3% we have passed the mystery shopper and the availibilty, for the 2% which we get in June just nice for the holidays!
Think Lady Alex will go for "finals" or endings
or there again what do I know??

Hello, all of you. Sorry you're poorly, Pauline. I can't be joining in tonight - I'm down in North Devon trying to give moral support to my niece, while she nurses her ailing, failing mother, my sister.
N'mind, life goes on. Enjoy yourselves, I'll try to get online tomorrow to enter my usual useless guesses and, hopefully, I'll be back with you next week.

Is that off everything Jan? I could do with that I have the two boys staying for the week and they eat like horses, we went shopping today to stock up for the week but I am sure we will be off to Sainsburys again by Tuesday.

hey laney must tell you about baby wipes
an ex collegue came in and as I scaned her shopping some baby wipes came through so as I knew she had kids about 10 myears old I laughed and said "was she trying to tell us somthing?" we chatted about how they clean most things, as I carried on scanning ....... the third thing after that was a pregnancy testing kit!
I could have dropped through the floor, what could I say???
I dared not look at her after that
it all turned out ok she is having a girl in September, ( she has 2 boys now) so all is ok.
the trouble with those kits is you dare not make a comment as you are not sure which way they want them to go, and they are not the sort of thing you have in "just in case" are they??

Oh Jan I bet you felt awful, I must admit I use baby wipes a lot especially if you drop something down your front they seem to get most things off!!

hey laney you need to get a job with us, It is 20% of everthing except stamps and petrol and lottery and cigs and phone top ups etc, not a bad firm to work for , an dif you know me that is high praise indeed, as I was ex safeways and did not want to change.I was very suspicious of the new company at first

Must admit Baby Wipes are always a must if we go outr anywhere for the day. They are so handy as you say Laney for most things!

Unfortunately Jan I am past employable age!! I must say they are my favourite store, we are having a new big one built and the old one seems to be going down hill a bit. So occasionally I do go to Tescos .

We have a big Tesco near us Laney...and I won't go in it!!
They actually built over the space they were allowed and have never been forced to reduce it!!
Anybody else flouting Building Regs would have been made to knock it down!

we hope for a refitthis year to get rid of any safeways shelving ang positioning of items so will become Sainsburys 100% in the summer(if they spend the cash!

I quite agree Pauline, I would feel the same, they seem to get away with anything. I must admit I only go if they have 5p off their petrol!! Jan has Sainsburys got a Petrol offer coming up?

I think there might be a bag for life offer in April and a banking promotion next week (which I am doing) but other than that I know nothing sorry

Worth a try Jan!!! The bags for life will be good, when we were in Switzerland they had no plastic bags
in the supermarkets you had to take our own bags and we were always forgetting to take them! Where is everyone tonight?
