Welcome to this third week in the reign of Princess Pauline. This month is slipping by at a rate of knots, and what a memorable month it has been. After two years scoring the MM Links Game, I finally got to meet up with some of the "shakers and movers". Pauline, Kay (evsajo) and LaneyB reminded me of theMikado's "Three Little Maids from School".

You may need reminding of the lyrics:

"Three little maids from school are we
Pert as a school-girl well can be
Filled to the brim with girlish glee
Three little maids from school

Everything is a source of fun
Nobody's safe, for we care for none
Life is a joke that's just begun
Three little maids from school"

The only phrase I would disagree with is that "they care for everyone"!

The three others, sarumite, gen2 and myself, crofter, were relatively subdued in the presence of the recycled teenagers! One thing for sure, the Fellowship of the Linkers was tangible and has grown strong over the last two years of networking and mutual support.

Tomorrow, Pauline is on early morning Airport duty and well have to play it by ear. Everything is prepared for the posting, which should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Ill be standing by to launch Paulines text, if needs be!

Also look out for the international version of this same game is called KM Links, which has been designed for Insomniacs Anonymous and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! My opposite number is seekeerz, who is experiencing teething with her new PC problems fixed). She hails all the way from Oz to collate the entries and keep score. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?

In the event that a substitute is needed, the ever ready gen2 will be standing by no doubt to maintain continuity of service. At times like these, we all have to pull together.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Until then ~ Happy Linking!

:O)
It's all getting a bit like a re-write of Lord of the Rings with the "Fellowship of the Linkers"! Which is elf, orc or hobbit?

And as to the shenanigans in Stockport I am worried, knowing the Latin root of the word, as to the Fellowship growing more "tangible"!!

thanks crofter, sorry to have missed the fun and games but was already booked for a break in south Wales,
went near Teachers neck of the woods Cardiff
bit wet in the old shrubbery tonight not sure who will be out to play
I bring tidings from High Priestess Pauline, who hopes to make a brief appearance in the shrubbery later this evening.

She is currently engaged as chauffeuse for hubby Reg, who has important business to attend to .. and then in the early hours has to be at the airport to collect their youngest daughter.

I regret to say, I was given absolutely no leads as to her link words during my stay in Stockport, so will have to devise yet another of my cunning plans if I am to succeed!!! (S)
That you escaped, sarumite, is a relief to us males south of the Thames.

S you mean with all that wine flowwing you didn't get het talking? shame on you!
did you try bribery and corruption?
No she wouldn't play ball Jan ... but I did manage two correct links last week, so maybe ESP kicked in during the alcoholic sessions!!

Strix .. us males from south of the Thames are more than able to handle these Northern Lasses!!! :O)

Ahhh.
So Pauline is away this evening - that explains the 'Recycled Teenagers' remark which would have been a really risky strategy on a usual Friday evening. Fortunately, I think you have avoided most of the flack - until evsajo comes on line, but by then the red wine will have mellowed and muddled the expected responses.

I agree that Pauline was keeping well clammed up regarding clues to the forthcoming links - even after ample lubrication. So it is anyone's guess what is going to be the theme tomorrow - unless it is the reunion itself?

She wouldn't - would she?
Recycled teenager????? Moi????? I was a perfect lady all weekend. Crofter must have got me confused with someone else.
Hi Strix, am ready for some of your music. We missed you last week.
BUT, gen2, you're not trying to stop us winding Pauline up about the high score of those who were double-stacked/triple-bedded in Stockport, are you?

Wind away Strix. I won't be around. Just managed a quick visit to this thread but I'm supposed to be entertaining my mother who has travelled all the way from Sussex to Fife for the annual inspection.

All being well, I may manage to pop in again once she has gone to bed.
good one strix, never watched or read Harry potter but love the music

I'm Back!!! ....and just read that lot Crofter!!!

Dragged Reg home early...as I will need a few hours shut eye later, before I head to Manchester Airport for 3.25 am!!!

No alcohol for me tonight!!!

Mind you...a few small glasses were downed last weekend!!
Hi Strix, I was a student there (St A) myself back in the good old days (1960s) when there were only around 3000 students and very few could afford a car. Most cycled around town in flowing red undergraduate gowns. Things are not quite the same today.

from what I have read you must need glasses Pauline as you don't know what small is?
Jan...it's just that I don't have small wine glasses! :-))
well why would you!!!
I bet you don't own one of those silly stopper thingys to re cork the bottles do you? ( I don't either)
