American comedian

I'm trying to remember the name of an American comedian. He speaks in quite a depressingly low tone and tells very short 'jokes'. I seem to remember him having quite big hair... i remember reading somewhere that he was very shy (hence his fairly unique comedic style).

Can anyone help me here, it's been driving me crazy fro weeks.

I think Aprilis is correct, it is Steven Wright.

He delievers his "jokes" in a very slow, almost "boring" style, rather like Eyeore in Winnie the Pooh.

Some of his jokes are VERY clever.

He once said he put instant coffee in a microwave and went back in time.
