Fair enough, Mazie - but I still can't see how there can be a carte blanche expectation for every questioner to provide a please as well as a thankyou. A question such as 'citizen of greenland i?n?i?' does not require more than a thankyou when it is answered, does it? Well, I don't think it shows impoliteness not to say please every time anyway. Over 99% of all questioners do not say please with their question and to tar them all as being impolite seems a bit OTT to me. Best wishes.
