MM Links Solutions July 2009 [Week 4]

This final week in the reign of Queen Julia went smoothly although scoring was on the light side. I can now reveal her chosen Link Words under the theme of The Elements were:

WINTER Sun
Wind TURBINE
Rain FOREST
Snow LEOPARD

Grandson Harry and family have just left after a two-hour visit having spent the week in St Ives. I'm afraid that AB had to take a back seat until they drove off. I'll be as quick as I can!

I was surprised to see that SNOW LEOPARD was the first to fall ~ to the very first entrant in the guise of lysander ~ with cliffyg eight places behind with RAIN FOREST. Each receives TWO POINTS for their efforts. There was little scoring in the next twenty or so contestants ~ only Strix, Eiggam & jan1956 picking up a Single Point.

After 30 predictions and the clock standing at14.45, the stalwarts Chris & Shazza Hewart came late in the game (as is their fashion) to start their very own glut of points! Chris picked up TWO POINTS for WINTER SUN and Shazza bettered this with THREE POINTS for WIND TURBINE and RAIN FOREST to make her HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK. However, there are bigger titles on offer this week!

A word to the Gasbaggerties, you don�t have to be present for the kick-off. Your predictions are always welcome and you have 36 hours to enter the contest. At the tail-end came twix123 to close the scoring with their usual serving of shrewdness.

The top of the Final League Table for July 2009 is as follows:

SEVEN POINTS: SHAZZA & twix123
SIX POINTS: beejay1124 & Grenmus
FIVE POINTS: cliffyg, kettledrum & tearinghair
FOUR POINTS: centrino & lysander


The �fresh-blood� leaders both scored SEVEN POINTS and both have a best weekly score of THREE POINTS. The decision is therefore based on a count back and after Week 3 it was twix123, who had edged in front. Consequently, it will be twix12, who will set the MM Links throughout the month of August!

Congratulations to the new Monarch of the MM Links and my sincere thanks to the retiring Jools in the Crown. Anyone who can help me to establish an email link with twix123 will be much appreciated.

Surprise, surprise... I never thought that I would ever become a champion, especially as my entries are usually after midnight, and don't normally qualify for any bonus points!! Thanks to Queen Julia for not making the links too obscure, and to Crofter for all your hard work slaving away over your abacus. I look forward to keeping you all intrigued over the next five weeks.
