Yeah but no but yeah! But for racing these horses (and dogs) would have probably never been born so they have experienced life even it was only for a limited time. Certainly the means of disposal should be humane (I haven't explored the links) but most of us don't kick up a big fuss about food animals being slaughtered.
We do kick up a fuss if the food animals are mistreated or killed inhumanely. And I think that is the main problem being alleged here, from the what I have read.
Davebro. Are you serious? If humans were bred to labour on plantations before being shot when they were past their physical prime, would you say that at least they had a bit of a life before they were killed?
Dave... I think that we should have respect and empathy for other living sentient beings. That's why I don't eat them and don't beat them. That's just my take on existence. I know I'm in a minority, but it's the way I feel. I never understood the argument that animals might be slaughtered but the fact that we bred them and gave them a few years existence excuses their annihilation when we have finished with them.
