Horse Racing
Another very good reason for hating the sport. Horses basically treated well whilst they bring in the money.

But for racing these horses (and dogs) would have probably never been born so they have experienced life even it was only for a limited time. Certainly the means of disposal should be humane (I haven't explored the links) but most of us don't kick up a big fuss about food animals being slaughtered.
Dave... I think that we should have respect and empathy for other living sentient beings. That's why I don't eat them and don't beat them. That's just my take on existence. I know I'm in a minority, but it's the way I feel. I never understood the argument that animals might be slaughtered but the fact that we bred them and gave them a few years existence excuses their annihilation when we have finished with them.
