The universe, as seen by current thought concerning the Big Bang's starting point (in time) for the universe, indicates one of three probable shapes. All of these have in common a 2 dimensional (flat) aspect. One would be a flat sheet of paper, having limited thickness. Another would be a "saddle" shaped affair, and the last, a funnel with a near infinite small end. The size, according to one source is 1.9 10^33 cubic light years in volume. Or, if you like, about 156 billion light years wide. The universe, although finite in size has no discrenible edge. The fact is, scientists don't know what the shape of the known universe actually is.
