I don't really understand why the man in the video warrants any insults. He's simply explaining scientific fact in a reasonable fashion.

If you don't want to watch the video. Make the sun a golf ball, on that scale, the nearest star is 746 miles away.

Brian Cox he ain't.

Another one who thinks science has advanced so far that it has reached its boundaries.  He clearly finds it difficult to extend his imagination beyond the present.  I turned it off when he got in his car.  (Who is he anyway?).

It's Tora, naomi, finally unmasked. 🤣

I did wonder.  :o)

what a waste of fuel and time.

Question Author

naomi: "Another one who thinks science has advanced so far that it has reached its boundaries. " - never said that, just trying to put it into perspective. I don't think people generally comprehend the sheer size of space this sort of video helps to visualize. No need for the nasties.

Even at light speed, the closest galaxy is 25,000 years away.

Question Author

anyway, you can tell its not me, wouldn't be seen dead in a VW!

steady on old chap, I have a VW and I like it - it's a good car, one could say a star.

Question Author

Yes...the Fuhrer loved "The Peoples Car" - designed by his mate Ferdinand Porsche, which us why all 911s are basically VW beatles. Relax relax.....just having a turkish 😄😄

Question Author

....now if he had a Jaaag he'd have had a much more relaxing trip.

TTT, what nasties?

//Even at light speed, the closest galaxy is 25,000 years away. //

Why go to another galaxy?  The nearest star to our solar system is just over four light years away, so four years at the speed of light and eight at half the speed of light.

Question Author

Naomi: "what nasties?"

"Another one who thinks science has advanced so far that it has reached its boundaries"

Terrific example of how much quieter and cone free the autoroute is to drive on as opposed to our terrible network.

Question Author

naomi: "The nearest star to our solar system is just over four light years away, so four years at the speed of light and eight at half the speed of light." - The fastest man made object is The Nasa Parker Solar Probe, it reached nearly 400,000mph momentarily. At that speed to would take 6300 years to reach the closest star. Voyager is doing 38000mph it would take 75000 years. Even light speed communication is virtually impossible let alone actual travel.

TTT, 10:36 Wed, what's nasty about that?  Some people do seem to think man has reached his full potential.

10:41 Wed, a perfect example of the above.  Don't you think we might ever improve upon that?

Another numpty who thinks talking to a camera automatically confers gravitas and expertise.

His theory depends entirely on the supposition that space travel will always be conducted at the speed it is now.

In a thousand years, it is perfectly feasible that light years can be passed in nanoseconds.

That only takes basic imagination, something this man clearly lacks.

Question Author

naomi: "TTT, 10:36 Wed, what's nasty about that?  Some people do seem to think man has reached his full potential. " - You are making an assumption about someone's intellect when all they are doing is trying to put some perspective on it.

TTT - The man effortlessly demonstrates the limit of his own intellect.

Any exploration had to have imagination at its core.

He clearly has none whatsoever.
