30 Answers
This is a seriouse question. I am not being rude, so please don't think so this is just a something posted by a weirdo, it is not. I just wanted a scientific answer to part of my college project to do with anatomy of the body. I'm sorry if I have upset anyone with this question. Thank you.

A man has to be aroused in order to 'perform' and I suppose this is why it isn't/wasn't considered possible for a man to be raped by a woman. However a woman could be accused of sexual assault..which is still a law rather than medical subject..

Rape
(1) A person (A) commits an offence if-
(a) he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis,
(b) B does not consent to the penetration, and
(c) A does not reasonably believe that B consents.
(2) Whether a belief is reasonable is to be determined having regard to all the circumstances, including any steps A has taken to ascertain whether B consents.
(3) Sections 75 and 76 apply to an offence under this section.
(4) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable, on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for life.'
A strap on would not be a penis, it would still be some sort of sexual assault. In America a woman can be charged with raping a man. Lots of things other than sexual arousal could cause an erection, I would have thought that maybe using viagra to drug a man might cause the laws to change.

If you watch the most recent episode of Desperate Housewives, then yes its possible ... there are both male and female psychos out there, only I'm not sure whether the trauma suffered by the man would be equivalent to that of a woman ?? I guess I just haven't heard of many cases of this happening so its very uncommon I think...
As Goodsoulette has indicated, under UK law (Sexual Offences Act 2003) the strict definition of rape is non-consensual penetration with a penis. Therefore the offence of rape can never be committed by a female.
There is however another offence "assault by penetration" which would cover the scenario of a female attacker.
