Yes, the person they must be quoting uses years as a gauge of distance, presumably his shorthand way of saying light-years; he is quoted directly here http://www.abc.net.au...11.htm?section=justin
That's the trouble with these new fangled tellyscopes. Looking at something in the neighborhood used to conjure up visions of aiming ones spy glass in the direction of the window across the way.
