Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin's of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

The trouble is lottie, it is the foreigners here who abandon their pets, it's not the Spanish. It is so sad as abandned pets cannot survive as well as feral ones, though they do become half feral.
quite a pleasant day, really, went for brunch at the Hilton as we had a voucher - we were supposed to book but they insisted they were sold out, so we just turned up and of course they weren't. Bakery buffet plus cheeses and yogurts and fruit, a man doing full English (which I can't abide), plus an item from the menu, so I had a Japanese beef salad, plus juices and a Bellini.

Then we went for a free guided walk around London as it is free walk weekend or something, so we saw the secrets of old Kensington, which was very interesting. The guide was actually American with a VERY LOUD voice which suited my terrible hearing very well.
Just eaten chili con carne with rice and butter garlic fried mushrooms, followed by fresh strawberries and cream, am stuffed. Having breathing problems again but will take some left over anti b's and see how I go, Mr N was to rush me to Urgencias, but if it's the old bronchitis again they put me in hospital (cos am over 65) and I can't be doing with that.

Hija has landed in Barça as far as I know, will phone her in a min.
Jno I would have eaten everything there on offer, sounds delightful.
You take great care Neti. I would go back to the doctors (says she who is terrified of them and takes three months to pluck up courage).

This is an early oight oight because I don't intend coming inside the chilly hole again tonight.

Thought you would like to see photo of Meggie on Holkham beach which Master LL took today.

Thanks you lottie, keep hoping that I'll be fine tomorrow, I don't feel ill at all!

What a gorgeous little dog meggy is, does she like cold paws??

Hija has landed!
wow, still snow up there onthe beaches. Hardly a flake here, life is back to normal.
I've got friends who ave got a holiday cottage in malta. They say the same, expats are going home and just abandoning their pets, so thoughtless and irresponsible.
Neti go to the doc and get sorted, this chest thing has been hanging on for too long. Lottie, be brave.
jno, that brunch sounds delicious. I really like bellinis.
Meggie looks a bit chilly. All he snow has gone here, its very wet but not freezing so we are out in the morning. Oight oight all
Oight oight biddies everywhere!
It's blowing a bloomin' gale here .
Sounds like a nice day out Jno .
Neti take care and go to the doctor .
Chin up Lofty .
Oight Oight folks .
Its blowing a gale here to and raining hard, the rain stings when it hit you. We still went out though, the dogs loved it till we turned for home and faced into the storm. Poor Shughy squeaked when the rain hit him. I felt like squeaking myself.
Anyway we are warm now and drying off and the bioys just had leftover beef stew for breakfast then mooched some cinnamon bun (Ikea freezer cabinet, ready to bake) off me
shh, the boys are wrapped up in blankets and sound asleep. I would take a photo but the light is too low.
rainging all night, all snow has vanished, but it's looking dry and brightish now. Mr Foghorn is leading another free tour today so we might go out again.
Good morning, sunny but chilly here. Woofy sounds lovely and cosy in your house. Am sitting in bed eating toast and blackcurrant jam and a cuppa, lovelYes England sounds warmer today but thawing and very wet, so all take care and stay in.
Hello jno, do you know your post was not there when I posted, so you take care, you are always gallivanting!! I want to gallivant!!!
dunno about gallivanting, it is more like trudging, but the sun is out and it's 8 or 9 degrees so quite pleasant. No brunch today, just the usual cereal bar and yogurt.
Lovely morning and I have sort of persuaded Mr LL to take me down to the coast for some sea air and a pub lunch!!

Just a few areas with some snow left, but it's almost disappeared overnight.

Meggie slept well last night after her escapades on the beach yesterday. She loves it down there. Neti, she doesn't care at all about being out in the snow and ice, she never is still for a minute - for an 11 year old dog she is amazing, bags and bags of energy. Wish I could say the same for me.

Feeling less anxious about the GP now. He's a lovely, caring man and knows me well so I won't hold back on anything - I am preparing my list for my 20 minute appointment!!

See you folks later.

Enjoy your trip out jno.

xx
