The layout in these stores drive me mad, everything all crammed together on hangers and nothing displayed nicely on models - I have yet to buy any clothes from here. There is lots of space to walk around each shop so wouldn't you think they would have a few more hanging rails to leave more space to push the coat hangers along? Does anyone else feel like this - or is it just me?
Theres lots of room because they want to attract all. People with pushchairs, disabled with buggies, also wheelchair users. There also is a shop 'Law' that there must be accsess for people with disabilities.
When you get older you will appreciate the extra room.
Watch out at TKMaxx - don't always believe what they say. Last winter they had a super-duper John Partridge all-weather jacket on sale that I fancied. The label said RRP £235, our price £99. At home, I checked out the John Partridge website and saw that their RRP was actually £175. Several websites were offering the same jacket at £82. I've since seen a few similar RRP discrepancies at TKMaxx.
TK Maxx has improved. Please don't forget this is a discount shop and it's all about turnover to make a profit. This is not a 'haute couture" shop although some very nice items together with very good prices can be got. Be a little patient. You are getting the chance to purchase some decent stuff without the usual high street mark ups.

I do agree with Ann86, although I was pleasantly surprised when visiting the store in Colchester. It was easy to search the rails and I actually bought an item.
I like TK Maxx, the layout can be a little frustrating if you hate shopping (like I do), I tend to like the stuff they stock (mostly) but have found them to be quite expensive these days.
OH and I go to TKMaxx a couple of times a year, foraged through and found some real bargains in the larger sizes - I got my Regatta rain jacket for a fraction of the price. Their home section is good, too.
..and PS I guess clothes only get put on models when a shop is selling more than one of that item - TKMaxx often only has one of something. Models take up floor space and someone has to dress them - most of TKMaxx staff are on the tills not on the floor.
