Amazon Refund

I bought a bracelet on Amazon a few days ago. It arrived and it's cheap and nasty, so went online to return it for my money back.

Anyway, I went through the return process to be met by a screen telling me that I don't need to return it and the will still refund my money.

Seems a bit odd to me. It was only a tenner, but surely they aren't really going to let me keep it and give me £10...

Anyone else had this happen?

Pure economics. The cost of processing the return exceeds the wholesale cost of the goods.

I suppose the wholesale cost of the bracelet is about 57p looking at it, so you're probably right rojash!

I had this happen with Lakeland I bought a bread knife and it proved not very satisfactory so I contacted them and the refunded me the full cost and said that need not return the knife.

Does feel a bit odd keeping something and them giving me the money back. I've not technically paid for it.

I had a lamp/radio that failed to get good reception and had the same thing. In that case though the item turned out to be from some other European country (hadn't realised at the time of ordering) so obviously they weren't interested in having the duff item back. As a lamp it still worked so didn't have the heart to sling it, but it presently lies unused :-(

The bracelet is crap. If I'd found it in a cracker I would have been disappointed. Looks nothing like the photo!

I'll give it to my friend's 10 year old daughter, she might like it.

Yes, I have today. I sent for 2 sets of headphones but then decided to send one of them back. I got the same message, can have refund but they don't want the headphones back.

Sometimes it's because they don't want the seller to resell it for hygiene reasons, eg jewellery and headphones.
