ruby wedding gift

can anyone suggest a suitable gift for this anniversary? my sister and brother in law are due to celebrate soon and we are struggling to find a suitable gift. we are leaning towards a rose or some other plant as they really enjoy their garden. any suggestions welcomed with three stars!

How about an origional newspaper from the date they were married?

Or make a CD compilation of classic love songs from 60's to the present?

Or, some decent ruby wine and two wine glasses with a ruby (red origin coloured) stem?

what about jewellery. a ring or brooch for your sister and maybe a tie pin or cuflinks for your brother in law, with a ruby setting of course. Ruby's aren't that expensive so you're not going to break the bank and it would be a lovely personal touch

My mum loves her garden, and rather than buying her stuff, we took her to a garden centre by where we live. In her case, she ended up with some wrought iron chairs and a table that look lovely in a part of the garden overhung by a lilac tree - it's like a grotto in the summer. I'd ask them what plants they would like you to buy them, as gardens are very personal, like clothing. my in-laws are in their late fifties and had everything so we booked an overnight in a swanky hotel (bedroom with its own jaccuzi ) and they had a great time !!!!!!!! its something they would not buy for themselves.

just did this one recently....... try www.timecapsule.co.uk they do a great pressie which is a compilation of things from the year they were married,,,, like soundtrack of the year,, newspaper front page can't remember what else, but lovely present,, think it was about �40 my parents loved it.!...
