Asda ! :)
Tesco's food products tend to be of a higher quality and the checkout assistants tend to be *tries not to be terribly snobbish* more pleasant. I think the loyalty scheme at Tesco is also generally accepted as being the best.
The two points are really my opinion from my experience, but I do stand by them.
Morrisons

your not aka nedflaunders by any chance laurence2?

Tescos the asdas and morrisons i've been in are all rather low rent.
Definately TESCO. Its got more choice, better laid out stores, cleaner toilets, more polite staff (probably coz they get better pay) and you dont need to wear your sunglasses to calm the glare from the horrendous lime green uniform.....oh and don't forget clubcard points.
Tesco's. They a bigger Vegetarian section and always have new Quorn products, Asda always have the same old things.
see mr_pointment, everyone with 28 grammes of sense agrees with me.

i would give Metz more stars but its beyond my earthenly powers lol :)

Our town has two major Tesco's, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Somerfields, two Lidls, a smattering of Netto's, various Spars etc.

General findings : Tesco's veg is rubbish, also its latest store is so vast you need a power trolley to get round. Morrison's cold meat counter takes some beating, Somerfields comes up with occasional specials. Sainsbury's layout is puzzling so, we stick to Lidls for good value and quality followed by top ups from Sainsbury, Morrison, and (if we have to) Tesco's.

It's a real rush getting round that lot of a Thursday morning!!!

p.s. mr_pointment. ****Don't forget my stars****!!!

I think Tesco is great! Good prices, special offers and choice. generous 'loyalty card' vouchers, good clothes and very helpful and polite staff.

Tesco
On subject of veg. Asda is the only supermarket i've been in where their fruit and veg was mouldy whilst still on the shelf.
what about Sainburys? We are realy friendly and our fruit and veg is much better than Morrisons etc, I know as I worked for safeways and we were taken over by morrisons and the quality dropped but our store was then bought by Sainburys and the quality of food went up again.

lol coobeastie. Jan, I'd certainly rather buy from Sainsbury's than AsDa, but I think I'd rather buy from Morrisons than Sainsbury's (some love of the North I think).

Def morrisons they got more offers.Done asda for years but quality? What quality?Sainsburys far too overpriced. And tesco ,got nothing to say about tesco!
zara 4 have you checked sainsbury's lately? They have lots of Buy One Get One Free offers. It is a myth to say they are far too over priced, if you have one locally give it a whirl, and spacechimp Sainsburys are nowe opperating oop north just as Morrisons have moved down saarth
