I recieved a DVD box set from Amazon.co.uk which was damaged, I want to send it back for a replacement as it is a christmas gift, please can anyone advise if this is a straight forward process? will I have to pay to return the item? how long will it take for the replacement to be sent? (cant get these answers from Amazon site) please advise, Thanks...
I had to return a whole parcel of books which were so badly wrapped that they were ruined. I paid the return postage as I remember but I think they reimbursed the cost via my credit card. The whole transaction was easy and quick. I didn't have to wait very long for the replacements to arrive, certainly less than a week. Amazon are one of the best retailers for their customer care.
Amazon are brilliant with returns,I sent an email when something took a long time to arrive, they sent me a replacement and then the next day the original package arrived, I emailed to tell them them and they emailed me back with a link to print off a postage label. I just stuck the label onto the return package, took it to the Post Office counter and they gave me a receipt as proof of postage and that was that.I couldn't believe how easy it was.
My sister ordered a 32" lcd tv from amazon and after a day of it arriving she heard some banging. Her 2 year old son was bashing it in with a torch. Lots of the pixels were broken so she rang them to say it was damaged on delivery. (Dishonest i know but they must have insurance)
They sent a new one within a few days and they aranged collection for the other after a couple of weeks.
