Bored of politics
im going to vote on may 5th and am planning on voting lib dem but i am growing more and more hostility and apathy to the political campaigns. the party political broadcasts are laughable and theblanket news coverage is tedious. i know the importance but is anyone else bored of blair and howard and kennedy constantly lying.

We should not be choosing politicians because they look good on TV but because they can do a good job. I agree that the current campaign is boring, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't exercise our vote after giving the matter serious thought even if that serious thought means that we decide to spoil the ballot paper. Hi Toby, I'm with you in that modern politics does seem to inspire hostility and apathy. The way politicians conduct themselves within their marketing campaigns does seem to do a disservice to very important issues. However ... ! they are important issues and ones that, as adults with responsibilities to ourselves and our community I think we should react to and cast a considered vote. Its a long way off I know but at one point people died for the principle of universal suffrage and there are many places where people don't have that voice. Maybe, now that we are mostly fed, clothed and watered that we have moved aong the political spectrum to a point at which its all pretty much about administration rather than big big issues - hence a load of suits behaving like children instead of serious politicians with ideological battles to wage.
