I moved out at 16 and really messed up, and although I don't regret moving out I would tell myself that to think about what I was doing, who I was hurting and who I should be listening to. But then if I was 15 then I probably wouldn't listen to me, as i would know better, and mess up for the 2nd time round anyway!
This has got me very thoughtful now.
BUT.... if I had given myself advice I wouldn't be who I am now, so I guess I wouldn't really want me to do things differently?
Ho hum. I'd say be safe, don't start smoking, knuckle down at school/ college and take advantage of every given opportunity. Oh, and start saving for a mortgage.
And whatever you do..... DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD!
Can I give the advice to me when I was sixteen please? I'd go back and tell me for the two years of my A -Levels, having successfully obtained sponsorship from the Royal Navy through University, to stop playing rugby and football at every given opportunity, ignore girls, stop working at Safeways after school each day, and to get my bloody head down and concentrate on my studies.
Had I had the wisdom of foresight, I might now (you never know) be commanding my own frigate around various places in the world instead of being stuck behind a desk.
