Haven't watched Eastenders for years and years so had no idea this actress had left the show until I read this today. Good luck to her.

"Pam St. Clement, the British actress best known for playing Pat Butcher on Eastenders, has signed up to become the "Animal expert" for ITV1 show 'This Morning'. The 69-year-old, who left the BBC soap on New Year's Day after 25 years, will become a regular fixture on the morning show."

She's done a lot of good work for gay rights campaigns, and I think she still does (although she's famously private about her own relationships).

she's very high up in the british horse world apparently so obviously knows about horses

Pam is a caring and generous woman. A few years back I was fundraising for an animal charity, asking celebs to donate items for an eBay auction. Most just gave signed photos, which was fine, but Pam gave a superb pair of 'Pat Butcher' earrings, together with a signed photo of her wearing them to authenticate them. A lovely gesture, I thought. I wish her well inthis new role.
