While Mozart was certainly born in Salzburg in January 1756, he actually died in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on 5th December 1791.

Oops! A bit careless of me. My reference was to Leopold Mozart rather than Wolfgang Amadeus!  I'm sure you meant the latter rather than the former, Localgirl, so my apologies. At least I got the country right, which is what you asked for.

Yup Vienney

Vienna is good for a visit - and you can go on a Mozart walking tour to his home and so on. its good fun. The film mozart is OK on this point - his death I mean.
