Mr Sunflower wishes to know if it is still ok these days to wear his double-breasted tuxedo to the event or is it out of date these days?

presumably you are not going to post that you wore it on a nudist beach at our say-so and got thrown off, and as a joe-standard litigous yankee, now want zillions of dollars for hurt feelings.....

Yes - more or less any style of DJ is considered appropriate - as long as it is black - white will make him look like a waiter.
if it fiits well and is in good nick, IMHo it is very stylish and in tune with the current fashion for retro

ooerr Peter Pedant you just gave me an idea. 

I reckon Mr S is going to look fab, in a  penguin-holding-a-drinks-tray kind of way.

This may be a late response but I think if a Black Tie is required for the occassion then its not out dated, but I would suggest that a single breasted tux would be an improvement on the old-fashioned, old mannish double breasted jacket.
