You are quite right. Think of all the food “mountains” over the years through the EU agriculture programmes. Tons and tons of wheat, vegetables, fruit etc all consigned to the watery deeps rather than pass them over to those who are in real need.
It is man’s inhumanity to man that is the problem – not God. I don’t blame
God – I blame man. Right from the very beginning with Adam, man has caused the problems and then blamed God.

If you read book of Job you are provided a view of a meeting of angels that took place before God in heaven. There God reminds Satan, who is also present, that there is “no one like [Job] in the earth, a man blameless and upright, fearing God and turning aside from bad.” (Job 1:8) Clearly, an issue exists that involves Job’s integrity. But it is not a new one. The issue was implied when Satan turned Adam and Eve away from God and, in effect, said: ‘Just give me the chance, and I can turn anybody away from serving you, true to very day. Genesis3:16.

Elderman,

Must people are denying the existence of God, not blaming him!! he cant lay the problems of the world on someone that does not exist! :-)

God’s omnipotent power and infinite wisdom, he is the great timekeeper of the universe. To him time is limitless. To man time is limited, so limited that he is always saying: I don’t have time for this or that. And no wonder! The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years. (Ps. 90:10) Naturally, then, man wants things done in a hurry. Seldom does he realize that God’s time schedule is run on a vastly different basis from our 24-hour-a-day one. “One day is with God as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Pet. 3:8)
Because God does everything in his time, nearsighted man is inclined to view it as a weakness, as if something were too big for God. It is not yet time for God to bring his full power into being.

Elderman - Yes, I know the story of Job.
Why didn't God care about Job's sons and daughters? God allowed Job's sons and daughters to die just to test Job's integrity. Did not their lives have any value to God?
Why is it that one man's integrity is important to God but his children's lives are not important.
Of course, Job later has more sons and daughters, so doesn't miss the original batch.

Assuming a God.
Natural disasters are as described, natural. They are a result of living on a planet not in Paradise.
A deity would probably see no need to stop them. Whatever you are here for could conceivably be negated if a deity was forever butting in and saving folk. And from it's point of view it's no 'biggie' anyway. A short period of unpleasantness, then you come and join it in the afterlife. Why interfere ?

Seems to be a pattern emerging here ~

Spreading, Elderman, Butterflies or whatever you would like to be called. Why change and play with different names. Be like me, one Keyplus90 since day one and would stand, face and fight, will never run away or change or disguise my identity. Many who thought will get rid of keyplus have disappeared themselves. Few by their own will and few have been kicked out of here. But keyplus 90 is still here and would be here until he feels to call it a day. Truth always prevails.
Over to you all now.

Reading down this thread (and others similar) it amazes me how so many of you, first set up a narrow-minded image of what you think is meant by others when they think of "God", and then vehemently set about destroying this image, which is in fact your own concoction. Here is something for you to sleep on; "The best lack all conviction, and the worst are full of passionate intensity", W.B. Yeats.
