Close Shave
6 Answers
Just read Mikey's post below about getting a haircut and shave and how close a shave he got.
I was wondering why is it that if I shave every 3 days or so I can get a really close and smooth shave but if I have to shave 2 days on the trot my face feels like a piece of sandpaper? Just cant get that closeness that I can if I leave it for a few days.
Also, why cant I quite get the bristles around my adams apple. Try as I might, I can never get a smooth cut around there, shave up, down and sideways to no avail, still feels prickly.
Thanks.

This was because you get a better shave if there is one or two days stubble there, for the razor to get its teeth into, so to speak, and I have always found that advice to be very sound.
The shave I got today was easily the closest one I have can remember, and certainly the only one ever without me being on the blunt end of the razor.
However, its not for the feint-hearted, and it wouldn't do to go to this barber if you had a persistent cough. The slightest move from you when he is wielding the cut-throat and you may end up in Casualty !
Give it a go, if you have an ethnic barber near you Nailit !

I had a complete shave / de-hairing in Turkey last year. It was very relaxing. Apparently 1 in 3 men now admit to having beauty treatments of which a warm shave is the most popular (according to a radio 'news' item). I only shave very two days and find that I get a closer shave and less irritation than every day.
