Whatever happened to British culture?
Is it completely dead or terminal?
Can it ever be revived, or do we need to adapt to the new foreign landscape?

Very sensible. Much better than joining in a pointless debate on a stonker of a spring day.
//I see we, predictably, never actually defined what British Culture is. //

You see? You don't appear to have seen the link I provided.

British culture has always been dynamic, but the pace of change has been slow enough for assimilation to be unnoticeable and comfortable. Now it is fast and like an invasion an an assault on our current culture. A strong leader would kick out the aliens an stand up for us all. To hell with political correctness and offending snowflakes. Too many sacrifices have been made by previous generations, for our generation to enjoy our culture and freedoms. We should value it.
Aliens? From another planet ?
Question Author
Yes. They are as alien to you or I as a green Martian.

///People are increasingly taking their children to family friendly pubs///

Which is probably why we are seeing so many Pubs closing imo.
Yo don't need to speak for me though, thanks .
///People are increasingly taking their children to family friendly pubs///

A strange business. When I was young I could not go into pubs because I was too young. Now I can I often don't want to because they are full of Mummies drinking coffee whilst their darling offspring run around screaming and shouting. Funny old world.
Ah, yes, Naomi, your link to a website which looks like it was cobbled together by a group of middle school IT project school kids. Very robust. Not.
Theland - Here is a post you put on 18 November 2007 -

For years we have been told of the so called benefits of multiculturalism, and to repsect the culture of ethnic minorities.
I believe that our own British culture has been diluted and given second place to that of immigrants.
For fear of being called racist, many British cultural supporters keep quiet, particularly in the political arena, and ethnic minorities are the first apply the racist tag.
So, how would you define British culture, give some examples of it, and suggest ways to defend it against the tide of political correctness? //

Are you developing a one-track mind, or do you simply think you'll get different answers this time?
Zacs, It is for schoolchildren ... but from what I see you're not above extra learning. ;o)
Only just got back to this thread.

No, what I wrote is not codswallop or rubbish. But by you saying it just proves my point.

You haven't even noticed.
Naomi, you’re the one who used it to support an adult argument, not me. Maybe the learning difficulties lie closer to home.

Repeating myself? Oh well that just shows how sad I am to see our demise. Parts of London look like India or Pakistan. White flight from the east end, I am told, and according to TV, is increasing.
Just because the architects of 'rubbing our noses in diversity' have since admitted it was a terrible mistake, why would you expect different answers from a mere 11 years ago, The land?
Zacs, communication is all about communicating and therefore it’s incumbent upon anyone attempting to communicate to consider the intellectual capabilities of the reader/listener. Anything less is bad manners. I hope it helped.
Not really. Posting a kindergarten link to support your argument doesn’t......communicate.....very well, at all.
Oh dear. Failed again. I'll try to find something easier for you next time.
Bad point. Badly made. Again.
I’ll repeat, it’s not me who posted a kindergarten link to support a feeble argument. If there’s any dumbing down to be done........
As I said, I've failed again and I'll try harder next time to offer something you can understand. Now put a sock in it. This conversation is boring.
