//A family have been filmed hacking up animal carcasses in their back yard in Dagenham. It is not known if the family — celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice — slaughtered the animals at home or were simply butchering them. Sun columnist Anila Baig said Muslim families traditionally sacrifice a goat or sheep and divide it into portions for Eid al-Adha. But she added: “In this day and age, it’s extremely unusual for someone to do this themselves at home.//

Whether or not this family slaughtered the animals themselves, someone did. Animal sacrifice in 21st century Britain. Oh the joys of multi-culturalism!

I think lamb lozzy . I like lamb. Out local butchers ( halal) do lovely lamb chops :-)
Oh CG bless your heart, this thread is about the family in Naomi link. There is no evidence that Talbot link is in the U.K..
Mmmmm, Anne, succulent lamb, roasted, grilled, slow cooked, casseroled, bbq'ed.

I quite often "knock over" a lamb, in the paddock, take it home, cut, bag and freeze myself.

Can't wait until my neighbours film me;-)

Jackthehat. ////Animal sacrifice in 21st century Britain.//
Absolutely zero evidence of this.////

For the umpteenth time Eid is the evidence. It’s not that difficult.

We hear constantly that banning things doesn’t work, that the answer to the burka argument, FGM, forced marriage, honour killings, etc., etc., is in education, but how on earth do the proponents of education expect to achieve progress when they systematically excuse that which they say will only be remedied through that means? Why people in the west are happy with this is beyond me – but it seems they are.
"Freeze "IT" myself.

Dammm, silly me.
///For the umpteenth time Eid is the evidence. It’s not that difficult.///

Ah, and you *know* precisely when the photograph was taken, do you?

You really must learn to be more objective.
Question Author
Pathetic.
Temper....temper....
So it wasn't about some people carving meat behind their house Naomi 09:52, (I'm loathe to use the term backyard)

Shame you didn't make yourself clear Talbot.

This followed by a link...

-Talbot-
Do not open the link if you are easily upset...or maybe if you're not easily upset. (yes I know this is Canada)

Couldn't be much clearer could it.
Question Author
jackthehat, No temper involved. Just amazed that anyone would be so eager to present themselves as incapable of comprehending a custom in order to defend an antiquated practice. That the meat was being prepared for Eid isn't in dispute. It has been confirmed by an occupant of the house.
I don’t think JTH is, and I’m certainly not defending the practise. We’re simply pointing out the OP which seemed to have whipped you up into a xenophobic frenzy, provides zero evidence of it in this instance.
Question Author
Zacs, //xenophobic frenzy//

haha! And so the barrel scraping begins. ;o)

//…zero evidence of it in this instance…//

It shouldn’t be necessary to re-post this .. but it is.

//That the meat was being prepared for Eid isn't in dispute. It has been confirmed by an occupant of the house.//

You’re clearly another eager to present yourself as incapable of comprehension. Still, I guess you think it’s in a good cause.
Oh dear.....
Pointing out that you had a paucity of evidence for your initial post doesn't mark me out as being unable to comprehend 'anything' or defending 'anything else'.

It now transpires that it was being carried out for Eid (agreed by the householder - that's *evidence*; do you see the difference?), but there is still absolutely nothing to suggest that the animal was dispatched on the premises.
Just amazed that anyone would be so eager to present themselves as incapable of comprehending that the thread wasn't fully thought out
The key phrase being ‘prepared’, Naomi. Not slaughtered, not sacrificed......prepared. You’ve just proved my entire point that your op, which sought to criticise Muslims by, very clearly, stating (not even hinting) that the article proved that sacrificial killing of animals was taking place.

Nothing wrong with my comprehension at all.
I don't see any difference to them butchering a lamb in their household to celebrate Eid and me butchering a lamb in my household to celebrate the christening of my niece.
^Well, the original post and subsequent attempts to justify.
Zacs-Master

/// We’re simply pointing out the OP which seemed to have whipped you up into a xenophobic frenzy, provides zero evidence of it in this instance. ///

If you must bring in Phobic accusations, shouldn't it be Islamophobic in this case?

After all these people are supposed to be 'British', aren't they?
Naomi mentioned ‘multi’ cultural, AOG. I thought it best to try to stick to that premis.
I’ve no idea whether they’re British. What makes you assume they are; your own agenda I suppose?
