Eid: When Sainsbury’S Just Won’T Do
151 Answers
//A family have been filmed hacking up animal carcasses in their back yard in Dagenham. It is not known if the family — celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice — slaughtered the animals at home or were simply butchering them. Sun columnist Anila Baig said Muslim families traditionally sacrifice a goat or sheep and divide it into portions for Eid al-Adha. But she added: “In this day and age, it’s extremely unusual for someone to do this themselves at home.//
Whether or not this family slaughtered the animals themselves, someone did. Animal sacrifice in 21st century Britain. Oh the joys of multi-culturalism!

The difference between what and what? The meat was being prepared for Eid.
// but there is still absolutely nothing to suggest that the animal was dispatched on the premises. //
And there has been no claim that it was. Read the OP.
zacs, //The key phrase being ‘prepared’, Naomi. Not slaughtered, not sacrificed......prepared.//
The preparation of meat for Eid involves ..... animal sacrifice. Read the OP and what Muslim journalist Anila Baig has to say... and then tell her she's wrong.

You’ve just proved my entire point that your op, which sought to criticise Muslims by, very clearly, stating (not even hinting) that the article proved that sacrificial killing of animals was taking place
Of course the sacrificial killing of animals was taking place... either that or the Muslim family had been conned.
Naomi's comment
It is not known if the family — celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Muslim festival of sacrifice — slaughtered the animals at home or were simply butchering them.
So how is your statement true, Zacs?

Xenophobic means having a dislike for people from other nations and I am sure Naomi doesn't have that, but I am sure, it is certain alien cultures that are being imported into this country, that some of us are against.
/// I’ve no idea whether they’re British. What makes you assume they are; ///
Well unless they are illegal immigrants, are they not described as British?

The difference between you automatically assuming that the meat was being prepared for Eid.......and the subsequent acknowledgement, by the householder, that the meat was being prepared for Eid.
Without that acknowledgement your post would have remained just an *assumption*.
I see, we flip-flip between the OP and subsequent posts depending upon which supports your argument at that particular point?

Ok hypocrisy maybe the wrong word... how about cognitive dissonance?
Those up in arms that the cow may have been 'sacrificed' when lets face it millions of animal lives are sacrificed to the god of taste every day.
But that's fine, they are treated 'humanely'. The cow sacrificed to a god doesn't want to die and neither does the one on the menu at MacDonalds. It's as simple as that really.
Religion has nothing to do with it.

For gawds sake Naomi. We know animals get sacrificed for Eid. Your original OP sought to criticise multiculturalism via an article which sought to conflate this practise with a picture of an animal being prepared in someone’s garden. The more reasonable among us could see this was a good to elicite exactly your reaction. I was pretty disappointed that a seemingly intelligent person such as yourself was taken in by this. I’m even more disappointed that you continue to try to save face by moving the goalposts several times when you’ve been proven wrong.
For the last time.....there is zero evidence in the article you linked to that multiculturalism is leading to the home sacrifice of animals for ritualistic / religious reasons, so please, gather the little self respect that your OP and following comments have left you with and bow out gracefully.

AOG,

Nah, mate, some of you display being against alien cultures via posts which you claim prove barbaric acts have occurred when they haven’t. That’s prududicial, bigoted and therefore xenophobic.
Well unless they are illegal immigrants, are they not described as British?
I think this highlights your profoundly bias and ignorant view of who is and isn’t British.

What on earth are you talking about? The link in my OP says the householder confirmed the meat was being prepared for Eid. No assumptions on my part, or flip-flopping. I took the trouble to read the link. Try it.
Zacs, ...//here is zero evidence in the article you linked to that multiculturalism is leading to the home sacrifice of animals for ritualistic / religious reasons.
No one suggested that. Multi-culturalism doesn’t lead to it - obviously – it’s a practice that’s been imported - but multi-culturalism embraces that which leaves much to be desired, including this apparently.
I have to go out now but something for you defenders to ponder. How defensive would you be if these were Satanists conducting ritual animal sacrifice in the name of their religion? Would that be ok too?
Bye for now.
