Coronavirus: Will You Comply With The Government’s Advice?

Whether you fall into the group classified as ‘at risk’, or are over 70 and advised to remain at home, or younger and fit but requested to abandon your social life, will you comply - and if not why not?

Not sure how that works. If the Chinese didn't do what they do, the virus wouldn't exist. Yes, they did start it.

people are a bit silly I think to be pointing fingers at nationality. How pathetic and slightly juvenile.

It's not even 100% factual human activity caused the virus. And if it did is it not still suspected to have come from a lab near the market?

No one knows what nationality of people could have caused / worked or contributed to the virus being about.

So maybe just get a grip

It’s not much to ask to put your social life on hold for a few months is it? Better that than catch this virus or continue the spread of it.

Are bats “filthy”?
They seem to carry more viruses than other creatures, many harmless, but I’m not sure anyone has either out why.
It also seems likely that the virus cane to humans indirectly, via a sort of anteater considered more of a delicacy then a bat :-)

Plainly the Chinese wet markets do need to be clamped down on: in a spirit of international cooperation I’d have thought rather than confrontationally

Yep, my town centre will be out. as regards to exercise I'm lucky enough to be able to get in the car and travel 10 mins and more or less in isolation, river walks with very few people around, if there are anyone you can see them coming from a long distance so no real problem in keeping distance. Can't see I will be putting anyone at risk doing that, unless you can think of one?

I’m to the point now where I’m past caring now Vagus, I’ve given the best advice I as an NHS worker can.
The public have no idea at the level of preparation we’ve undergone.....it’s going to be horrific. We were told yesterday that when patients are put on a ventilator they will be given 72 hours. If no improvement after that, they’ll be detached, left to their own devices and the next one will be given their turn. Sounds like something from a Hollywood script, I know. That’s the stark reality of the info we’ve been given and what they’re expecting.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.

I think there ought to be regular public information slots on the tv telling people what you’ve just told us Chilli, bring it home to the idiots who still think it’s ok to go the pub or out for a meal ‘because there were only a few people there and I kept my distance’.
I salute you Chilli and have everything crossed that you and your family stay safe. Thank you for the valiant efforts you and your colleagues are making for us all.

If everyone had your mindset towards this thing we’ll all be ok.

People worrying about local pubs going out of business?? This is a global catastrophe, the potential scale of which is unimaginable.
The local Police have already made enquiries about our staff canteen becoming a secondary mortuary because it’s now closed to staff.
Everyone is bracing for the great unknown and they’re all beginning to realise what’s coming.

There is naff all we can do, bottom line. I need to shop every other day for food essentials.
