Will You Be Bending The Knee?
193 Answers
An anti-racism campaign group is urging Britons to “take the knee” on their doorsteps for a socially distanced protest in solidarity with protesters in the US.
Stand Up to Racism (SUTR) has organised the protest for 6pm on Wednesday as part of a day of action against discrimination in response to the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
I won’t.

Bobbi //a peaceful protest yes, I would support them//
Surely bending the knee is a peaceful protest. When Black Lives Matter make a statement condemning the unrest, I may consider backing them, until then, as sympathetic as I am to Mr Floyd and his family, it's a solid no.

// The septics clearly have some racism but guess what? If you don't resist arrest you don't get a copper kneeling on your neck! //
Resisting arrest is not a capital crime. So even if you had a point, which you don't, it's a point that is rotten to the core. Never mind that police are meant to be trained to deal with this in a way that doesn't leave people dead; never mind that many police in the US routinely seem to lose control and attack unprovoked people. Never mind that they break into the wrong house and shoot its owner.
Check your ignorance.

I wonder though, has "taking the knee" been chosen to support BLM/remember George Floyd because of it's symbolism, or to antagonize Donny, given his hatred of the act when initiated by Colin Kaepernick throughout the NFL season of 2016/17?
And if this is readily accepted and practiced throughout America, should Mr Kaepernick now be seen as a visionary of black civil rights, and be forgiven by the NFL, allowing him to join a team once again, if he wishes to do so?
