Will You Be Bending The Knee?
193 Answers
An anti-racism campaign group is urging Britons to “take the knee” on their doorsteps for a socially distanced protest in solidarity with protesters in the US.
Stand Up to Racism (SUTR) has organised the protest for 6pm on Wednesday as part of a day of action against discrimination in response to the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
I won’t.

What he is saying is that if Flyod had not committed the crime he would be alive. I think that is most likey to be true.
And on the subject of the murder charge, are you all saying the cop went out to kill Floyd? Might well be true as it appears he worked with him at some point but maybe we should let the Courts work out what went on, leading up to the arrest and why he was help like that for so long.
Unfortunately, as as been shown in the past, video evidence can lie or distort the truth which is why we should wait on an investigation before jumping to any conclusions one way or another. Kangaroo Courts are not good for any one in any circumstance.

I'm not sure, but then again that's why the charge, for now at least, is "third-degree" murder, which, in Minnesota, is defined as "...without intent to effect the death of any person, caus[ing] the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others...". It may not have been that the cop intended to kill Floyd but it was pretty obvious that he was going to succeed.

The fight against racism has evolved over the years and these incidents highlight that we take 2 steps forward in trying to eradicate it and then 10 steps back when a person dies whilst being arrested.
Black lives matter does not imply all other lives do not. It simply highlights that racism against blacks is still rife and will be until attitudes change.
No arrest should result in a death. I'm sure there are many ways to restrain someone resisting arrest and pressing your knee on their neck for 9 minutes certainly shouldn't be one of them.
