Have You Ever Been Tricked By Someone Claiming To Be Able To Contact The Dead?

Driving home today I was listening to Jeremy Vine interviewing A J West about his new book, 'The Spirit Engineer', which examines, among other things, the reality or otherwise of the spirit world and the trickery used by charlatans to convince people that they are actually contacting the dearly departed. Mr West threw out a couple of 'cold' readings and asked listeners to phone in if they thought anything he said referred to them personally. I arrived home before anyone called so I've no idea of the outcome. Interesting nonetheless.

So … have you ever been tricked by a trickster - and when did you realise you had?

Naomi such musical synchronicities are more common than you'd think..usually they will come in clusters..piece of music..something said on telly.. mail received...etc..spirit manipulation of the environment to draw attention... my house has been presenting strange activity for a good while now...but it does not scare me at all as I suspect..and have good reason to believe..it is my dad who passed 6 years ago...

Minty, Why now though? Why not immediately after he died?

because it can take some time for a spirit energy to be strong enough to manifest in any way..first came to me approx 2 years ago... 4 years after his passing..although I had messages the night before his funeral that were undeniably accurate..it is approaching his 6 year anniversary on the 29th and this may be why the activity is more attention demanding now

no..I was alone in the house and the lights went off for a good 15 seconds..I called out and asked if it were dad to put them off...they went off..I called out to ask for them to come on..they did... I asked a series of personal questions that were yes/no answerable and asked for the lights to go if yes.. which they did consistently at the appropriate times..I also put in a few negatives to test..and there was no response...

Oh my! You're braver than me. We had some awful experiences in our 'haunted' house - and so did some of our guests - the living ones I mean. I think there was more than one 'resident' there, and I'm convinced that one of them in particular had no idea we were there.

residual energies are simply old memories actions being replayed over and over..these "ghost" energies are not intellegent aware or able to communicate..merely replaying over and over... unlic spirit energy in visitation that can communicate and interact

most spirits are friendly and inquisitive..but ..as in life..there are some that can be malicious and threatening..but by and large playful and mischief making is the norm

sparkly..my "dreams" have been recorded and scrutinised by experts many times over lol !! as I said unless you experience it for yourself..

He has offered $1,000,000 for 6 decades for proof, no claim has ever been made.

sparkly..because there are so many quite impossible and unrealistic restrictions imposed and they have also refused countless requests from folk who were willing to demonstrate their abilities.. I have travelled the UK and Ireland and into USA and have experienced so much..it is NOT like the telly... and I and my team ..as many others that exist....are serious paranormal investigators...we do NOT go "Ghost hunting" for thrills... there is a science to it... and we spend hours trying to debunk and explain things before declaring anything to be paranormal....we also spend many hours in cold dark damplocations with no activity at all.spirit does not perform on request..and please forget all the telly tripe and hype

My lovely Dad managed to get an asked for 'message' to me just over a year after he had passed. It was wonderful and helps me through the never ending grief of losing him. Nothing from Mum though, even though I've asked her, but I don't get upset as I have no idea how it all works. You posts are fascinating murray.
