It's probably just as annoying for people who just want a quick trim to queue behind someone whose hair has got into such a mess that it takes ages to tidy it up.

Perhaps you are suggesting that your barber has a "10 hairs or fewer" queue.

Guess you'll  just have to go to the barbers more often.

Haven't been to a barber in 25 years. Once over in 5 mins with the electric shaver once a week seems to keep it quite neat.😀

Find a barber with an appointments system.

Could it be the other people have made appointments and you haven't?

Go when it's not busy??

Go somewhere less busy, there seems to be no end of barbers these days.

Not had my hair cut for decades. It grows to a certain length, where it does grow, and then departs.

One time I got onto the situation described. I had a job interview in the morning and popped into the barbers prior to improve my appearance. Had expected the place to be empty that time of day, but no, long queue. Waited an age until it was clear I didn't have a lot of time left. Embarrassed I still took a deep breath and asked those waiting if they minded if I skipped the queue and went next because I had an imminent interview, but unsurprisingly none were willing, so I had to leave and get to the interview without getting it cut.

Appointments ?!?!?!

I think someone is confusing a ladies' hair salon with a bloke's barbershop.

(Ah, I  recall when GPs had a sensible 'walk in and wait' system too. Happy days)

Well Robert1984, good thing you don't go to my husband's barber. He can wait up to 3 hours as the barber never stops talking to all and sundry. Also as a typical West Indian barber shop, there is reggae blaring out, smoking of unmentionables & heated conversations. Alcohol is available. I am so surprised it hasn't been shut down!!!!!!

Errrr no.

It probably isn't just about getting a haircut for some - it's a social/lifestyle experience.

My barber used to operate a 'first come' sytem. I went weekly, and never minded queuing, it's not my job to judge people on how much they need their visit.

Now they have an appointment system, I book inz no waiting.

OG, my husband's barber works on an appointments system.  I don't think that's unusual these days.

The barber I've been going to for many years has been running appointments for a long while now.  The only time I have to wait is when I turn up early.

Does your barber use a mane trimmer, Lie-in King ... ?

He might as well, Ellipsis, it grows like a weed.  I don't like to go too frequently, so he has to put some work in each time 😉

Hello again Robert, in for the usual bob?

Sharon - is there a game of dominoes going on in the background , while they wait ?
