Now I may get everyone on my back here, but I am so angry, gypsies have moved in on our industrial estate, they are everywhere. I take all people as they come and basically they've come as scummy thieves. They hack into water supplies steal timber etc. There's being a proper gypsy and then there's taking the p!ss. what are other people views on them? Some I like and have time for up town as they are based at a gypsy site but these I do not have time for.

Ok the people who take land and steal water supplies and look filthy and choose to live in muck then! the term pikkies or however you spell it comes from them anyway.

ok gypo or travelllers they can all then be seen as offensive, they call themselves pikies for goodness sake.

They are not gypseys either so thats why people call them pikies

My experience of them has only ever been bad. They've stolen our work van twice (they aerosol over the sign writing) and nicked all the steel panels from the back of our lorry to flog. All of this has been in broad daylight. The police got the van back the first time, but didn't bother the second!

My friend was also pushed off her bike and had it nicked on her way home from school when she had to pass one otheir 'sites'. When it was reported the officer said they would turn a blind eye to her brother and dad going to the 'site' instead of having to do it himself.

There may very well be clean and decent gypsies/travellers, but the ones I've had experiences with, haven't been. :o(

I dont think gypsies get called pikies anyway i have friends who are gypseys, they dont like these pikies themselves and call them that the ones who give them a bad name, they should be put in same boat.

yes but I�m sure most people aren�t calling real gypsies this sam. These are not real gypsies. I got told diddies is the most offensive to any gypsy, whether they are scum or not.

The police are scared off them and so are most people. A gypsy asked my mate uptown once if he could get a lift to the gypsy site and she took him, but while in the car she saw him in mirror tip crisps all over her car and laugh about it, so she drove round and round and wouldn�t let him out till he had cleared every little bit up.

There was a story on the local news last night, something about a small rural village and these people ,eco freaks, who bought some land there cheap. Have started to live there, they had build large home structures out of anything they can get their hands on. They have no permission to live there and no planing permission for the 'dwellings', and to top it off, they had applied for permission to build full structures and homes there in this 'area of natural beauty'. When the council refused them permission on numerious grounds they argued and are appealing.

The locals said that the village is too small to cope with increased demand on it's infastruction, and said they do not need to live there they can grow the crops and reside else where, which I agree with. But I just though how many bulidings, how big, how many people, you know they would say "oh only a couple of residents to tend the crops would live there" ......and weeks later it would be like ******* Glastonbury!

But its the fact that they are jumping on the back of all this 'eco stuff' and using that as a reason for being there, lets face it they want cheap housing in a very expensive area of natural beauty, and then in the furture sell the lot and become millionaires, they care less about the environment than China!

I had a load of the dirty lot knock on my door on sunday asking if my rabbit run was in use, I told them politely it was (my guinea pigs run about in it) and they just wandered off, I'm now waiting to see if my run mysteriously disappears!!

There were 2 men in their 30s and the other 4 were kids aged about 6-14 it was the youngest child who asked me! They had a mini motorbike with them (assume it was nicked) 3 mountain bikes (again assumed nicked) and a portable tv!

Dirty scum! 'real' gypsies I can tolerate but not these filthy beggars!!

oh yer they'll ask first and even if you say no they'll take it. They have just tried nicking wood then when told they couldnt they said 'what ya using it for' does it matter its not bloody theirs to take

The people you are talking about are Pikies who are English, Parvies are Irish , all detested by the Romany Community , as where I live there is a permanent site and the Romanies won't have them on there as they have no respect for anyone or anything . When they depart the site they have broken in to it's left full of human poo , gas bottles and general crap . Revolting people , illiterate inter breeds . Now having all that lot from Romania descending , getting money and houses , when there isn't enough property to house our own homeless.

these ones are definately irish. We now think they are in the area for family wedding which isnt for another 2 weeks :(
