Maid of Honour question

My brother is remarrying, and my future sister-in-law (aged 51), has asked me to be her Maid of Honour. I'm 59, am I too old to this?

I dont think age has anything to do with it.A Maid of Honour is for a married woman as far as i know. Personally,i dont think there's any right or wrong for a wedding,it should be up to each couple's choice to have their wedding the way they want. 59 isnt a bit too old and i hope you have a lovely day Ava's Mum.

As rickee has said a Maid Of Honour is traditionally a married woman, so can be of any age.

Chief Bridesmaids are usually younger and unmarried.

I think the expression is Matron of honour if you are/ have been are married. Maid of honour if not.
You are certainly not too old.
