The older of the two is the heir to the throne - one always comes out first.

That is cute! LOL!!!!!
boy first, even if second born
That would presume that they were both of the same sex. If the first one out was a girl and the second one a boy, then the boy would be the heir.
Hmmmph. Trust jno to get in first!! ;o)
This is true, jno and lottie, I am am bit slow on the brain power tonight.

usually at c section one baby is lying in a more accessable position for delivery, and would be very unusual to be able to tell the sex until fully delivered
good point, though, headwreck, the whole future of the nation decided by a guy from obs and gobs because he accidentally pulled the evil twin out first.
Personally, I'm against Sex Discrimination.....I say "First out get the job." !!!

Ron.
crumbs, if it was twins I would need another bullet!
Why would you want to shoot babies I.Don No?
it was a tongue in cheek remark, pertaining to my belief in a republic, of course I would not shoot babies..........get a grip coobeastie!
I'd guessed it was tongue in cheek likewise was my question ;)
They've changed the rules now, it goes in age order, regardless of gender . . . .
and what about conjoined twins, assuming they both survive the separating operation . . . .
Not in the UK, molly, males still have precedence - it was suggested but blocked in 2000 http://en.wikipedia.o...to_the_British_throne
I'm sure i heard it on the news last year or the start of this one, about how it's been changed, but it won't affect anyone for a while yet.
No, ithas not been changed, mollykins. Under the 1701 Act of Settlement male heirs take precedence and Catholics or sposes of Catholics are barred:

If the Act is to be changed it is more likely to modify the Catholic barring aspect than the gender issue.
