A Baby's Human Rights
193 Answers
Both Jews and Muslims lop bits off their young male children, not for medical reasons, but because their religions demand it, so a hypothetical question. If a case were brought before the European Court of Human Rights claiming that this practice is in violation of a human being's right to decide what happens to his body, what do you think the outcome would be?

The Quran states "Let there be no change in Allah's creation" ok so you have an interest in hadith and sunnah. not just the quran which is a little irrelevant to the question.
The question is: Do you think it is ok to chop bits off of children to alter their appearance, especially as Allah has specifically said that you should not?
Does hadith and sunnah over-rule this as you appear to imply?

you do now that in the quran it states that as muslims we should follow the teachings of prophet muhammed...that is the hadith and sunnah. yes, the quran is more important, its the word of god...however at least we dont have like more than 1 religious books like some religions. that would be confusing.
oh my god...have you read my answer yet??? hadith and sunnah, god told you to obey that as well, which are the words and actions of muhammed. there are probably plenty more reasons as well, ill list a few:
if you are not circumcised you are more likely to have problems down below, eg, my cousin who is not muslim, hes a christian had to get circumcised at the age of 31, by doctors because he had problems and infections down below so they sorted it out that way. i know this happens to very few people, but it does still happen, so its better to be on the safe side than get infections. also, as i said, it did not hurt me at all. i disagree with the female circumcision, and i have not heard that ever apart from here, and no girls in my family who are muslim or muslims i know have had it done, so it must be a cultural thing in specific countries, but it sure is not religious.

Sith, //hadith and sunnah, god told you to obey that as well//
Is that right? Mmmm ..... this presents another dilemma because now we have to ask why all Muslims don't believe it's acceptable to circumcise women.
Oh dearie, dearie me, Sith. Perhaps you should try again when you've learnt rather more about your religion.

haha...enough with the jokes ratter....female circumcision is a rural practice mostly found in africa in places, the problem with you people here are that you tell me to answer your questions, and explain them, however when i do, you tell me my answers are stupid, from this i am only guessing that you are not interested in most religious views, hence the constant questioning of elderman and goodlife. you want us to explain them mostly for you to question and in simple words make fun off. but i still am not going and am still going too give my views when ever nesseccary.
Sith, //female circumcision is a rural practice mostly found in africa//
And it's often justified by interpretation of Islamic literature - as my previous link demonstrates.

I wouldn't say they were stupid - just illogical. Take a look at our latest conversation.

There's nothing funny about religion. Religion mashes minds.
