When I thought about the possibility of a Creator, it made me angry to think that someone might have the power to prevent human suffering but was not prepared to use it!” Thus said one former atheist who lost family members in the Holocaust. He was hardly alone in feeling as he did.

Sith, If only it were that simple. Elderman thinks he's right, you think you're right, but one of you must be wrong.

Or .... you might both be wrong.

You ask 'how would you know you are wrong?' Well, how would you?
lol, i dont have a problem with elderman. :)

and thats part of religion, to study it, weigh up the facts for yourself and make the choice.
And there's an awful lot of tosh and indoctrination written by you, Elderman and Truthabounds on here in the name of religion. I have no issue with folk attending churches, mosques, synagogues, temples whatever, including sex camps if that is their "thing" for inspiration and contemplation, that's their choice - and also I welcome well reasoned arguments on AB. But the incessant verbal diarrhoea that comes out here....well.

It's all rather a yawn actually, almost as if you are on-line Jehovah's witnesses.
ok...so how come its only the religious people who write the supposed trosh and nonsence. are you atheists considered higher up or something?
Sith, you used a bad,bad word. Facts do not exist in religion other than number of members, annual turnover, profit margin, amount of tax avoided.
No more rational and logical in our reasoning, simple as that. We don't need elevated deities.
Sith, taking into account the alleged result if you get it wrong, with no evidence to support any of it, that's a mighty big choice to make. Good luck!
why good luck, im not thinking of changing
I meant good luck with the choice you've made.
Elderman, to answer your question, of course it is but obviously not in atheists who have had their family 'lost' in the holocaust, or any other artheists probably. You will have to start off by building belief, after that just fill their waking hours with passages from the bible so that they forget how to think for themselves.
oh, ok naomi
// sith123 ok...so how come its only the religious people who write the supposed trosh and nonsence. are you atheists considered higher up or something? //

Not higher up, just more sensibly informed about the realities of life.
sure
It is possible but strange as it may seem those who has a Christian faith has it because it is given to them by GOD.This needs a lot of explaining and not even some Christians believe this. They believe faith is all their own work. That is why we will always have atheists.Contrary to some beliefs from Christians, atheists are not on their way to hell, it`s just not time for God to give them that faith. Hell by the way is a myth, not even Jesus preached about it but sadly it`s bad translations
Question Author
True,Millions of persons have been taught by their religions that hell is a place where people are tormented. According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, “The Roman Catholic Church teaches that hell . . . will last forever; its suffering will have no end.” This Catholic teaching, the encyclopedia goes on to say, “is still held by many conservative Protestant groups.” Hindus, Buddhists and Muhammadans also teach that hell is a place of torment. No wonder that people who have been taught this often say that if hell is such a bad place they do not want to talk about it.But is not what the Bible teach.
It's getting like 'white noise' in here now............:o(
lol
Redheadthere, //Hell by the way is a myth, not even Jesus preached about it but sadly it`s bad translations //

Oh good grief! Jesus, allegedly, banged on rather considerably about hell, but now we have yet another one claiming the bible doesn't say what it says!!

Don't you find it strange that the bits you like aren't bad translations. Just a thought.
And what bits do I like Naomi?
No idea, but since you haven't complained about the bits where Jesus doesn't mention hell, perhaps you'll tell us.
