When I thought about the possibility of a Creator, it made me angry to think that someone might have the power to prevent human suffering but was not prepared to use it!” Thus said one former atheist who lost family members in the Holocaust. He was hardly alone in feeling as he did.

Redheadthere, //In short it cannot contain a teaching of an all loving God who promise to forgive sins and at the same time he punishes forever the majority of his creation. //

So, as I said, you've decided to believe the bits you like and ignore the rest.

Some simply do not believe in God. They may reason that since they cannot see him, he must not exist—talking about him seems a waste of time. Nevertheless, atheists are definitely in the minority “believing somewhat naïvely that the system will ultimately support their cause and even reward them.” When “the system” does not do so, or even punishes them, “the psychological effect can be devastating.

Today many people wish to see justice meted out to those in power who commit illegal acts, even religious leaders. But “the system,” or any worldly organization, rarely rights the wrong. Why is this too much to expect? Because, says the Bible, “that which is made crooked cannot be made straight.” (Ecclesiastes 1:15; 1 ) Yet, if righteously inclined people cannot bring about improvements, who can? Only God can, and he will do so soon. Under his Kingdom government, all corruption will be eliminated. The effect on all earth’s inhabitants will be delightful (Psalm 37:37-40)
Naomi,You said, "So, as I said, you've decided to believe the bits you like and ignore the rest". I say, nothing is ignored, just a proper explanation and understanding of everything that is written. Careful reading of them puts light on what Christian and probablly other religions once thought (and most still do) is/was the anger of an unforgiving God. Don`t believe what everyone else tells you, go have a look and study for yourself.
Redheadthere, //Don`t believe what everyone else tells you, go have a look and study for yourself.//

If you read these threads you wouldn't say that.

What church do you belong to? Where does this special insight and understanding you claim to possess come from?

Those who choose to walk in the truth of the Bible as a way of life are rewarded with a valuable benefit.
The truth succeeds in practice. When scientists discover what they think is a scientific principle, it must first stand the test of actual practice in order to be recognized as more than a mere theory. It must succeed in practical ways: in the design of equipment, in the cure of disease, and so on. However, in matters of living, the intellectuals, philosophers and religious leaders who do much to shape the thinking and conduct of people today have themselves failed this test.
What they say and write often sounds good. It may be couched in persuasive language and backed up with many well-worded arguments. But most of their theories on life fail the test of truth. How so? Such theories do not work!
The unfortunate results of their philosophies in practice are all around us.
Elderman,
"Those who choose to walk in the truth of the Bible as a way of life are rewarded with a valuable benefit."

How do you know this to be correct? Don't tell me, you read it in the Bible? :)

The Bible is a book of total lies fairy tales and absolute nonsense!!
Elderman - To repeat the questions you have failed to answer on many other threads -

Are you a Christadelphian?

If not, what organisation, religion, charity, cult or whatever do you subscribe to?

It is unacceptable for you to post here with a hidden agenda, and nobody should respond to you until we know what you are.
He belongs to 'The Church of Trolly Nutcases'- you'll never get a straight answer out of it because it's a troll- it copies and pastes all it's answers to save itself time and is just laughing it's a753 off because you're all taking time out of your lives to write proper answers. It's a total waste of oxygen- ignore it or club it to death if you ever actually spot it, but don't bother trying to discuss anything with it.
He is too embarrassed to tell us?
NOX - he and his other names are certainly trolls.

Christadelphians are encouraged to post on Internet forums to earn brownie points - i don't like to see so much time wasted in making serious replies to senseless rubbish just to satisfy some private and undisclosed religious practice

Embarrassed Not at all, but are you the type of person that God would choose to do the work he wants done in the earth today? If so, it means that you must be prepared to be viewed as a fool by the world. “The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God,” the Bible says. (1 Corinthians 3:19) So to be a successful servant of God you must be willing to proceed in a way that will make you seem foolish from the world’s standpoint. Are there historical examples to show that not only were God’s servants viewed as foolish by people of the world but the wisdom of the world was also foolishness to God?
Elderman, //are you the type of person that God would choose to do the work he wants done in the earth today? //

What makes you think you are?
Question Author
Think throughout God’s Word, a true christian is admonished to acquire and maintain a balanced perspective of himself. While it is necessary for the Christian to think of himself sufficiently to take care of his mind and body and use them in the right way, it is vital for him not to go beyond that.
Elderman, any chance of you ceasing your inane waffle for long enough to answer my question? No? Thought not.
Naomi24 //What church do you belong to? Where does this special insight and understanding you claim to possess come from?//

No special insight, no church but I did at one time go to church. Most religious organisations don`t allow you to think for yourself. You are fed what they want you to know but I was uncomfortable with that.
another christiadelphian then?
@Elderman. There`s no reason why you should take advice from me but if I could tell you one thing it`s this. Don`t "preach" to them.
Redheadthere, you are preaching to the converted - the difference being that some base their conclusions on rationality rather than on wishful thinking.
Tell me about the Christadelphians DT and @ Naomi I have to say it`s not just wishful thinking. You either believe or you don`t. Nothing wrong with either in IMO
No just google it - and I want you to say whether you are a Christiadelphian on your faith.....knowing that a lie in front of your God is a sin. Are you a member or are you not, redheadthere - funny that somebody said the same thing yesterday withe exactly the same words "Tell me about them DT"
