But are you sure of your facts? Which sura says slavery is wrong? Sura 23 or 25 (as I recall) says that a man shoul confine his sexual appetites to his wives and the women of his right hand. Mohammed freed slaves; he also retained slaves and had sex with some of them according to the Haditha. Is this true or false?

Sith //so muslims, who were christians and jews back then started believeing in that.//
Jesus, Moses, and every other biblical prophet died hundreds of years before Islam was invented. They could not have 'started believing' in it - ever. They were dead.
As for Mohammed's habit of keeping slaves and having sex with them - and the Koran's advice on it - may I suggest, once again, you do your homework. If you think what you've said is correct, you don't know your own literature or your own religion.

Sith, I didn't say Jesus and Moses converted to Islam either. Their religion was never Islam because when they lived Islam didn't exist. They were always Jews.
Do your homework. Here's a starter for you.
Qur'an (33:50) - "O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those (slaves) whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee"
Qur'an (4:24) - "And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess."

well, ask yourself, are there valid reasons for the existance of any religion ever?
ironically religious belief and atheism need each other - if one ceases to exist, so does the other.
to be honest - thinking about things on a world wide scale is usless. everbody lives their life differently in some way or other, and everyone has experienced something different, whatever it is and its that experience of life that leads people to either religion or atheism. and their decision will be based on their experiences in life.
for example - someone who lives in london who was abused by their parents 24/7 might chose not to believe in a religion because they find it hard to believe any god exists after they got beat up everday for no reason.
in comparison to an incrediably poor hungry and dying child who barley survives on a pitiful food supply with tainted water might chose to believe in religon because either their parents told them every night that god will bless their land with crops, but most likley will believe in something because theyve never known anything different...
see... belief in my opinion is all based on personal life experience.

Sith, I'm not sure which bit you want translated, but here goes.
The first bit means that Jesus and Moses died hundreds of years before Mohammed was born and long before the Koran existed. Therefore Jesus and Moses could not possibly have ever heard of Islam - hence they could not have been Muslims - because before Mohammed there were no Muslims. Jesus, Moses, and the rest of the biblical prophets were never anything but Jews.
The second bit, relating to the Koran, means that any woman captured (even those already married to someone else) could be used for sex by Mohammed and his mates.

This is what religion does for you - My religion, right or wrong. No matter what my religion condones, no matter who my religion oppresses, no matter who my religion kills,No matter how much my religion distorts and mangles science and fact - I will believe, because its my faith.
You do not see anything wrong with this sort of attitude, Sith? This sort of attititude, in extremis, is what created suicide bombers, frothing at the mouth preachers, wars and misery.

so you are basically saying im gonna become a suicide bomber? what the hell is wrong with you. go on, say that to every muslim on the planet. this is what it is. stereotypes. ok, naomi told me that, i have not heard of it for myself and even when i have researched it just now on the supposed called islamic sites it doesnt provide any real evidence. surely if this was true no one would convert to islam or believe it yet it is one of the fastest growing religions on the planet. but of course. atheists will find something to counter this as well, as you do with every single religion.
Hell no Sith, If I wanted to choose a religion that allowed me to do whatever I wanted, allowed me to stone people to death, cut off their appendages, Have sex with women I wasn't married to and murder or steal from people who weren't of the same religion as me then it would be obvious which one to go for. Of course you don't need to belong to a religion to do these things but it might delay the guilt feelings for a while.
